Altitude doesn’t bother us: Just Drift Round 1

Chapter 1: Beginnings

Beginnings, their almost as hard as endings. After many hours of planning, there’s still going to be problems,
situations, and the path that you take isn’t necessarily the best. However, the one thing you do know is
that whatever path you do end up taking, it will be one hell of a journey. These were the thoughts of Drivers as they
rolled their cars off the trailers and onto the track for Just Drift Round 1.

The location for this round was stunning in every way. High up in the mountains above
Montserrat, Spain. As we got off the plane in Barcelona, Spain’s second most famous city, we
travel a couple of hours inland. As we did the views got even more spectacular but the closer we got the
silence we replaced with screaming engines that echo through the entire mountain range.

The Track was like something that me personally have never seen before. A quick right left right into two
long sweepers. There well no really changes in course height but this seemed like a tough track to put
some rookies on as we will find out later.

Many Drifting in this course heading more towards the angle side of things and failing to
achieve the speed zone.

Turn three was finding to be one of the hardest turns with some drivers pushed too hard and
overshooting the turn.

Turn 4 was also proving hard as drivers were struggling to fill the entire outside zone and in some cases,
pushed too hard whist doing it.

As soon as BostonTroy (Owner of FDA) let the first qualifier through the gate, i thought to myself,
this is going to be a fantastic year for Forza Drifting.

The surprise of qualifying was SLP Felon, who after getting in all the practice he could get as well as
putting done exceptional runs, only managed to get 13th, which put in right into battle DVN Rauzey.

It was just Rauzey who qualified high, the top 5 was a wash with DVN boys, taking 4 out of the
5 slots. The highest being nL Reddo with a 88 point score.

However, no one could beat MCON Maverick who put done a stellar first run, taking out first
position with a 90 point score.

Chapter 2: The fight Begins

The first contending battle was DVN Rauzey and SLP Felon. Felon knew the Rauzey was fast, so he
pushed himself.

Coming into the first sweeper, Felon came in hot and hit Rauzey, causing him to spin.

The second run had even more chaos then the first. On the same corner Felon spun again in front
of Rauzey, leaving him nowhere to go. Using his skill, Rauzey just made the gap in between
Felon and the edge of the track. Rauzey would take the win.

This put him right up against his own teammate that is DVN Sileighty.

The battle was tight, and short lived. Sileighty pushed hard on the chase but stalled entering the
first turn.

The all DVN battles continued when second place qualifier nL Reddo went up against
DVN Rubix. The battle was pretty much over before it start as on the 3 turn, Rubix pushed
too hard trying to close the gap and spun out.

he most amazing moment of the weekend didn’t take long when DVN Cookie went up against
xJustSaucy. On their second run, Saucy went too wide and hit the wall, spinning his car round
in dramatic fashion as Cookie went past him with flying colors.

DVN continued as nL Reddo and DVN Cookie met each other in the great 8. Cookie was
putting on a solid performance but Reddo wasn’t backing out, even to his own teammate.
In the end it wasn’t enough and Cookie would take the win.

Chapter 3: Podium in sight

The final four started with MCON Maverick and DVN Rauzey. The first run was hard fought
as Rauzey was giving Maverick no room.

Maverick seemed like a man on a mission answering right back to Rauzey and sending thing into a OMT

Sadly, that was where Maverick;s mission would end as Rauzey pulled a big enough gap to take the win.

DVN Cookie and TG xexzel would good head to head for the second final four battle with
Cookie hungry for the win.

Maybe a bit too hunger….. as in the second run he push too hard and drove off track giving
xexzel a free pass to the finals.

This would put Maverick and Cookie in the battle for 3rd place with Maverick pulling a sizable
on his lead.

The second run would show the end of Mavericks day as he drove off track on the first
sweeper. DVN Cookie getting third place.

The final battles would see another pair of DVN bros and it was granted that it was a all DVN
podium.

he battle was close in both runs with xexzel running a bit closer over the entirety of the
run, getting the round win and a early lead in the championship.

As the Just Drift Championship heads into round 2 these are the standings are:

TG xexzel                         116
DVN Rauzey                   106
DVN Cookie                     88
